Anupam Kher has announced his 538th project! The veteran actor will portray the role of renowned poet, philosopher and essayist, Rabindranath Tagore. Anupam took to Instagram and shared his first look as Tagore as he expressed his delight to play the larger-than-life character.

In a new feat, Anupam Kher will play Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore in his 538th project. Taking to Instagram, he dropped a video of himself as Tagore and looked unrecognizable. In his note, he mentioned that he will reveal more details about the film soon. Anupam expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to bring Tagore to life on the big screen and assured his fans that he will share more information about the film soon.

Sharing the same, he wrote, “Delighted to portray #Gurudev #RabindranathTagore in my 538th project. Will reveal the details in due course. Ye mere saubhagya hai ki mujhe Gurudev ko parde par saakaar karne ka saubhagya prapt hua hai. Jald hi iss film ki adheek jankaari apke sath sanjha karunga (sic).”

RABINDRANATH TAGORE’S LINEAGE

Rabindranath Tagore is known by various names such as Gurudev, Kabiguru and Biswakabi. He was the first Indian to win the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1913. He wrote the national anthems of India and Bangladesh and composed numerous other songs. He was born on May 7, 1861, in Kolkata. Tagore began writing poetry at the age of eight and published his first collection at 16. He was the first Indian to win the Nobel Prize for Literature, to honour him for 'Geetanjali'.
