Mahindra and Mahindra has commenced online bookings for the new Scorpio BS6. The SUV can be booked after paying a token amount of Rs 5,000. While Mahindra Scorpio BS6 price has not been revealed yet, all the other details pertaining to the vehicle's specifications and features are out.

We are expecting Mahindra and Mahindra to announce the new BS6 Scorpio price once the lockdown is lifted. The starting price of the updated SUV might be close to Rs 11 lakh (ex-showroom). Mahindra Scorpio rivals the likes of Tata Harrier, MG Hector, Kia Seltos and Hyundai Creta.

Unlike its BS4 counterpart, the new Mahindra Scorpio BS6 gets only a single powertrain choice. The SUV is equipped with an updated 2.2-litre mHawk turbo-diesel engine that generates 140bhp and 320Nm of maximum torque. It is paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox. However, there is no automatic transmission option with the BS6 Scorpio.

The dimensions of the BS6-compliant Mahindra Scorpio remain similar to the outgoing model. The SUV is 4,456 mm long and 1,820 mm wide, if we do not take the width of the ORVMs into account. The SUV's height is 1,995 mm, while its wheelbase measures 2,680 mm. It has a 60-litre fuel tank.

The new BS6 Mahindra Scorpio is available in S5, S7, S9 and S11 variants. It comes with features like projector headlamps, LED taillamps, 17-inch alloy wheels, multi-function steering wheel with audio and cruise controls, fully automatic temperature control and 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Also available in the BS6 Scorpio are safety features like dual front airbags, speed alert system, engine immobiliser, seatbelt reminder, emergency call, reverse parking camera and ABS.

Depending on the variant, a customer can choose between 7 captain seats, 7 side facing, 8 front facing and 9 side facing seating options. The 2020 Scorpio BS6 gets Napoli Black, Dsat Silver, Molten Red and Pearl White colour options.
