Abhishek Awasthi, television actor who is more famous as actress Rakhi Sawant’s ex-boyfriend, recently got engaged to his lady love Ankita Goswami. The two got engaged in a low-key affair on February 5, 2017, in Mumbai, say reports. Abhishek Awasthi was highly in the news when the drama queen of Bollywood ditched him and had a grand swayamvar wedding on the small screen. While speaking to Dailybhaskar.com, Abhishek Awasthi informed about his engagements, saying, “The engagement ceremony was a low-key affair, as Ankita’s family does not belong to the industry. And so, we had decided to celebrate this occasion in the presence of only our family members. None of my industry friends were invited. The ceremony took place at my house. We had lots of fun with my relatives. This is the new beginning of my life.”

On the work front, Abhishek Awasthi will be seen in Prem Ya Paheli – Chandrakanta in the role of Kroor Singh’s companion Ahmed. The show is a new version of the 1990s Chandrakanta. Abhishek Awasthi feels his girlfriend is his lucky charm. “Ankita has been a lucky charm for me. A lot of things have changed after she entered my life. I am really lucky to have Ankita as my life partner.” The actor also revealed his wedding date, saying, “I want it to be a winter wedding, which will happen this year itself.”

Abhishek Awasthi and Ankita Goswami have been in a relationship for the past two years and Ankita is nine years younger to him. Abhishek Awasthi had earlier said in an interview to The Times of India, “Ankita cooks amazingly well. I can apologise to her even without committing any mistake just for that. In fact, I would like her to do an international chef course.”

“We will tie the knot by the end of this year. She is the kind of girl I have always wanted to marry. After being at wrong places, God has finally landed me at the right one,” the actor said.
