In a word, drugstore foundation shopping is a struggle. Between the bottles that weirdly distort every shade, the mystery of figuring out which finish you're in for, and the far and few options for each shade and undertone, it's just a blegh situation. Or at least it was—the beauty industry's been chipping away at making it less awful for all, with Maybelline the latest to make a huge move for inclusivity.

While drugstores like CVS and Walgreens have created mini beauty boutiques to test out things like foundation before you take them home, brands like CoverGirl and Maybelline have been broadening their ranges so there are actually options for everyone (because what good is testing if there aren't shades for you to test?). And today, Maybelline announced that it's expanding its Fit Me! Matte + Poreless foundation line with 16 new shades, so Fit Me! is about to fit more.

The new additions range from deep, ebony brown to alabaster white, bringing the range's total shade number up to a glorious 32. In the photo, it looks like most of the new colors read warm, with a few cool tones included. Foundation ranges are all over the place these days—some sticking with a focused effort, others embracing the spectrum—but even by Sephora standards, that's a respectable count.

With L'Oreal's True Match line coming in at 33 color offerings, the drugstore's killing it on the color representation front—although as ever, the more shades included, the better. Priced at $6 at Walmart, foundation options for all (and in all price ranges) are finally coming in fast. Maybelline pulled a similar move in October, when it added 16 shades to its Super Stay Better Skin Foundation, which packs SPF 15 along with other skin-helpful benefits.

The Matte + Poreless line is one of the best drugstore foundations for a soft and blurred look, while Maybelline's Dewy + Smooth collection leans into the fresh-faced aesthetic. The brand hasn't posted whether the shade extensions are coming for their cult fave Instant Age Rewind concealer line, but fingers crossed that it keeps getting easier for everyone to find their match.
