Artemisia ludoviciana or Dwarf Wormwood is a hardy, herbaceous bushy, low growing shrub that has very attractive, soft, silvery grey, deeply divided and jagged edged foliage.
Some varieties however have smooth edged leaves.
It bears small, bell shaped, greyish/yellow flowers in summer but it is really grown for its foliage as it makes a great contrast in borders.
Artemisia spreads by rhizomes but stems that touch the ground can also root.
It is quite frost hardy and can be invasive if not contained.
