Is It A Good Time To Visit The Dominican Republic?

This article is more than 2 years old.

When considering a trip to the Dominican Republic, ask yourself if it is a good time to visit. With lingering safety issues and the threat of Covid-19, this question is akin to asking if it is a good time to experience what it’s like to feed an alligator. Certainly, it is full of adventure and unique thrills, but one needs to take the proper precautions and perhaps even be assisted by a trained expert.

With the help of a tour company or vacation club, the traveler to the Dominican Republic can safely take in the cultural experience while avoiding the dangers often associated with the destination. Currently set at Level 3 on the travel.state.gov website, which denotes “Reconsider Travel,” the Dominican Republic might just be worth the risk. Caution, common sense and chaperones can mean the difference between a memorable vacation and a vacation one would rather not remember.

One company that offers luxury excursions, many to the Dominican Republic, is Lifestyles Holidays Vacation Club. President, Markus Wischenbart, heads a company that leads travelers to many destinations within the Dominican Republic such as Puerto Plata, Punta Cana, Cabarete, Bavaro, Bayahibe and Boca Chica. Within these destinations, multiple resorts offer the quintessential DR luxury experiences, such as strolling along the white sand with clear tides caressing the beaches where lovers rekindle their passions amidst a sunset backdrop of tropical hues. The travel experience, renewed and hopeful, according to Wischenbart is “only the beginning.”

Watersports are popular as are zip lines, so this vacation club offers both. Throughout their excursions, travelers can go river rafting, swimming with sharks, boating, and more. The zip line experience brings travelers on a quickly immersive look at the DR landscape. Adrenaline rushes and joyful screams always accompany the experience. This is the world within the bubble of tourism, a world that caters to the customer, especially to the American customer.

The authentic Dominican Republic is not so luxurious, overall. Like most places in the world, there are certain regions where it is just unsafe for foreign travelers to venture. There are few places where one could use the term luxury. Quaint and classically rough might be a better way to depict the majority of the DR experience.

These are more reasons why travelers should stick to tour companies when seeking the best of Dominican Republic. Safety is more than simply not getting robbed. Lifestyle Holiday Excursions, for instance, ensures strict Covid precautions are in place, like testing their employees regularly, making face masks mandatory while indoors, supplying infrared thermometers in all their units, and keeping surfaces sanitized.

As the world of tourism slowly opens up, it is extremely important that travelers not charge out of the gate of enthusiasm without planning for safety along with the fun. The tour company, and/or all-inclusive resorts might be the most prudent choice for travel free of trouble.
