Mahindra & Mahindra offers the Xylo in the MPV segment which is powered by two diesel engine options, a 2,489 cc m2DICR unit and a 2,179 cc mHawk motor. While the mHawk is only BS4 complaint, the m2DICR is BS3 compliant as well which is available in BS3 compliant cities. The MPV is offered in various seating configurations to suit the potential buyers’ needs and also has a 60:40 split third row seat for the top end variant. Unlike the base versions, all other trims have body coloured bumpers and the top of the line version also has body coloured ORVMs (Outside Rear View Mirrors). In terms of safety, the Mahindra Xylo has dual front airbags, ABS (Anti locking Braking System) with EBD (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution) and reverse parking sensors in the top end variant.

    The Mahindra Xylo is offered with body coloured bumpers, black radiator grille,side steps with integrated mud flaps and rear wiper with washer on the higher variants. The top versions also get alloy wheels, body coloured ORVMs (Outside Rear View Mirrors), side body graphics with decals, chrome highlights at the front as well as rear and blackened out B and C pillars. All trims of the Mahindra Xylo have a disc brake setup upfront and drum brakes at the rear. Minimum turning radius of the Mahindra Xylo is 5.5 metres and the MPV has 215/75 section tyres with 15 inch alloy wheels/steel rims for the mHawk engine powered variants. The m2DICR variants gets 205/65 section tyres.

    Inside the Mahindra Xylo the MPV gets different seating configuration to suit the buyer’s need for a 9 seater, 8 seater and 7 seater configurations. It has a dual tone interior colour theme for the door panels, dashboard, centre console and seating upholstery. The 6 seater versions come with captain seats in the second row which add to the comfort of the passengers. The top end variant also gets dual charging points and dark grey wood finish interior colour theme. The 2 DIN audio system supports Bluetooth connectivity along with USB and AUX playback and steering mounted controls. Another feature restricted to to the top variants is the VCT (Voice Command Technology) that has a number of commands pre loaded in the system and activates or deactivates the desired function as per the driver. The Mahindra Xylo has best in class air conditioning although it is a manual unit for all variants.

    The Mahindra Xylo is powered by two diesel engines, a 2.5 litre m2DICR unit and a 2.2 litre mHawk motor. The m2DICR engine generates 92 hp of power at 3,600 rpm and 218 Nm if torque from 1,400 rpm to 2,600 rpm while the mHawk motor churns out 122 hp of power at 4,000 rpm and 280 Nm of torque from 2,400 rpm to 2,800 rpm. Both engines have been tuned keeping in mind the best balance between performance and fuel efficiency. That said, there is no option of the petrol engine offered in the Mahindra Xylo

  • Mahindra Xylo Transmission

    The Mahindra Xylo’s engine are mated to a 5 speed manual transmission for both, m2DICR and mHawk engines. There is no option of an automatic transmission, however, gear changes are satisfactory and the ratios have been slotted minimal gear shifts in day to day driving.

    Although all variants of the Mahindra Xylo come with an engine immobiliser, the higher versions also have ABS (Anti lock Braking System) with EBD (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution) and dual front airbags. The top end trim also comes with reverse parking assist or as Mahindra & Mahindra calls it Intellipark Reverse Assist.

  • Mahindra Xylo Mileage

    For the m2DICR engine powered variants, the Mahindra Xylo has a claimed fuel efficiency of 13.9 kmpl and the mHawk powered versions have a claimed mileage of 14.02 kmpl. These figures are acceptable for an MPV.
