Katrina Kaif has revealed that she may commit to the sequel to Rajneeti.

The actress played a powerful politician in the 2009 thriller about a political dynasty.

She told DNA India: "I did hear the idea about a sequel from Prakashji [Prakash Jha], I think it was brilliant. The only thing is that most of the characters from the first film have been killed, so he has to set up the whole thing again.

"The storyline, the idea that he told me about Rajneeti 2 is amazing and I hope everything comes on properly.

"I think he is busy with another film Satyagraha. If something really falls in place then it is good because I genuinely feel it is a good idea. It is something that excited me. I hope things fall in place.

"I don't know as he has given me a one-line brief about it. He has not called me for full script as he is working on two films - Chakravyuh and Satyagraha."

Kaif added: "It is not a serious film. If another good film like that comes to me I will do it. Rajneeti is a script that has been worked upon over time, like a lot of time was spent on research."

Rajneeti, directed by Jha, also starred Akshay Kumar, Ranbir Kapoor and Arjun Rampal.

The film was one of the first to have been featured in India's new mobile film portal.

In January, it was reported that the original film's co-stars Kaif and Kapoor are planning to appear in a world tour together.
