Love Is Blind star is trolled for bragging about her 'huge' Instagram following... only for fans to discover she has just 8,600 followers

One of the stars from the new season of Netflix's Love is Blind has been relentlessly trolled after boasting about her popularity on social media.

Chicago real estate agent Trisha Frame was a standout in the first episode of the series due to her extreme confidence in the pods.

The 31-year-old repeatedly bragged on the show about having a 'huge Instagram following', but fans quickly discovered she had just 8,600 followers.

'It's really hard for me to really understand why a girl like me doesn't have a boyfriend or a hook-up,' she said in her intro.

'Scale of one to ten, I'm a catch,' she added with a laugh.

Trisha's arrogant comments quickly drew backlash on social media platforms like Twitter and Instagram.

'I'm watching the new season of Love Is Blind and Trisha... Girl.... Just no,' tweeted one viewer.

'Trisha keeps talking about her Instagram following but… girlie has 8.6k #LoveIsBlind,' added another.

'What does Trisha get from bragging about her 8,000 Instagram followers and how much she THINKS all the boys like her?' a third fan tweeted.

The backlash eventually became so extreme that Trisha deleted her Instagram account shortly after season two premiered on Netflix.

She returned to the social media platform on Tuesday, and shared a post acknowledging her behaviour on the show.

'Well, that episode was embarrassing,' she wrote, followed by a laughing emoji.

Unlike the show's other participants, Trisha hasn't included any reference to Love Is Blind in her Instagram bio and hasn't shared any photos from the show either.

She appeared during the pod phase of the season, but was unable to form a romantic connection and didn't progress to the honeymoon section.

In the scenes she was featured in, the blonde not only bragged about her popularity on social media, but also claimed most of the men on the show were interested in her.

'You guys are all so excited to talk to me!' she said during a conversation with Nick.

'I'm not trying to sound conceited but it sounds like all you guys are going after me.'

'I have a lot of Instagram followers that see how hard I hit the gym. I think sometimes girls or people get a little intimidated by how much I work out, that they might not be able to keep up,' she added.

The popular dating shows sees 30 singletons date in 'pods' where they cannot see each other before getting engaged, after which they spend four weeks together and then must decide whether they want to go through with a wedding.

The two first episodes focus on the people making connections in the pods, and only the couples who get engaged are featured in the rest of the show.

Season two of Love Is Blind is currently airing worldwide on Netflix.
