Broncos receiver Eric Decker and fiancee Jessie James are set to star in a reality show. (Twitter and USATSI)

The NFL wide receiver, reality show genre has been in a rut since the careers of Chad Johnson and Terrell Owens ended. However, that rut could be over: Denver Broncos wide receiver Eric Decker and his fiancee, country singer Jessie James, have landed a reality show on E!, according to the Hollywood Reporter

Here's a synopsis of the show, which will be titled "Love and Other Contact Sports: Eric and Jessie."

From Khloé & Lamar to Kendra & Hank, E! has followed the romantic celebrity relationships of popular athletes and their gorgeous companions for years. The new Love and Other Contact Sports franchise will take viewers inside the confines of even more celebrity/athlete romances starting with country/pop singer Jessie James and her fiancé, Denver Broncos wide receiver Eric Decker whose wedding is quickly approaching. The series will chronicle the sexy young couple’s road to the altar as they juggle careers, relationships, family and more. Currently residing in their Denver dream home, they share an ambition to succeed, a charmingly fun and unfiltered outlook on life, and most of all, a red-hot attraction for each other.

E! will be unveiling other new shows this summer, like "Total Divas" and "Holly has a Baby," -- a show that's presumably about a woman named Holly having a baby -- but Decker's show seems to have the most promise.

Decker and James have been engaged since April 2012.

For anyone concerned that Decker's new reality show might impede his ability to practice and play football, don't worry about that, says James. She tweeted that filming will not occur during the football season.

Broncos executive vice president of football operations John Elway may not watch, but he seems to be on board with the reality show, "I gave him my blessing. I don't think [the reality show] will affect him," Elway told USA Today

With the money he makes from the reality show, Decker will probably now be able to repay the $3,217.50 he still owes Duke from using the school's facilities last month.
