After the Abarth 595 Competizione, Fiat India is all set to bring-in the Abarth versions of the Punto hatchback and Avventura crossover in the country. While the Abarth Punto is reported to be launched on October 10, 2015, the Abarth Avventura will go on sale by the end of this year. The engine specifications and details of both the vehicles have been leaked prior to their launch in India.
Powering the Abarth Punto is a 1.4-litre T-Jet petrol engine that produces the class-leading power output of 145bhp and 212Nm of torque. Mated to a five-speed manual transmission, this engine is claimed to deliver a mileage of 16.3km/l. It accelerates 0-100kmph in 8.8 second. The Abarth Avventura, too, is powered by the same 1.4-litre T-Jet petrol engine, but puts out 140bhp and 210Nm of torque. It is claimed to return fuel economy of 17.1km/l. This powertrain is mated to five-speed manual gearbox that helps the car achieve 0-100kmph in 9.9 seconds.
Both the Abarth twins share various styling cues such as Abarth and T-Jet badges, Abarth decals on sides, flared wheel arches with Scorpion Sting design 16-inches alloy wheels and sporty rear design. While the Abarth Punto will be offered in White and Black exterior shades, the Abarth Avventura will be made available in While and Red colors. Braking power for the Abarth Avventura comes from front and rear disc brakes, while the Abarth Punto gets ventilated front disc brakes and rear drum brakes.
