China sees Pakistan as her longstanding and committed ally. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations, Pakistan and China have successfully maintained cordial ties muddling through all challenging circumstances and serving their national interests. As Pakistan's physiographic feature placed her at the junction of South Asia, West Asia, Central Asia and Western China, she is sited in a region which is strategically significant for world trade. She proposes the shortest route to China towards Middle Eastern and European countries and plays a vital role in transit economy. China depends a great deal on Middle Eastern states to satiate her energy needs. Presently, Pakistan and China are agreed to build an economic corridor; a multi-dollar's project, China has ever invested in any foreign country. With China Pakistan Economic Corridor and Gwadar port being functional the shipping cost would be reduced and delivery time for China to reach Middle East and beyond will be cut short. Integrating 2,000 km transport link between China's Kashgar region to Gwadar port at Pakistan close to Iran's frontier through physical roads and railways and oil and gas pipelines, the corridor will increase economy and trade, improve regional integration, expand transport and communication infrastructure and overcome energy shortage that are coupled with potential threats and challenges.
China and Pakistan are willing to establish " One Belt One Road " OBOR Project that known as China-Pakistan economic corridor. This project has two major components one is overland that is known as the Silk Road Economic Belt, the other one is 21 st century the Maritime Silk Road. Once this project is accomplished, it will have an incredible economic knock on the countries on its roadmap. It is expected that this project will bring peace and prosperity in South Asia. This project will integrate 2000 KM transport link Kashgar in North Western China to Pakistan's Gwadar port and Arabian Sea close the border with Iran through roads, railway and pipeline projects. Pakistan Government has many external and internal dares for implementation of this multi dollars project. This project is a game changer that will change the fate of Pakistan and also helpful to make it modernize. This project will improve the trade and economy, and also will increase regional connectivity, development of infrastructure and people to people contact of both countries. Under (CPEC) projects, China invest $46 billion after it amount exceed and $62 billion for the development of transportation infrastructure and energy projects in Pakistan. These project will open a new outlook for Pakistan, to mold it from geo-politics to geo-economics.

China Pakistan Economic Corridor: Demands, Dividends and Directions
complete report cpec-2 (1).pdfThe China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is one of the pivotal components of China’s high profile BRI. facilitating connectivity, China promotes a vision where a ‘win-win’ situation of mutual benefits can be achieved. Invoking a 2000 year old history that China shares with Central Asia, Eurasia and other parts of the world, President Xi Jinping has been persistent in conveying that the BRI, including the CPEC, aims to revive regional connectivity through, infrastructure development, trade and investment in industry from which development dividends can be shared across the world. Openness and inclusive growth thus form core principles of this ‘project of the 21st Century’ while any skepticism over the geo-strategic ambitions of the BRI have categorically been rejected by the Chinese leadership. Yet, some academia, policy experts, ThinkTanks and social activists in the Western world and Asia remain suspicious.
The geography of a country determines its role in the world affairs. Pakistan is located at a very significant strategic place on the globe. It is situated at the juncture of energy proficient to the energy deficient countries. The Gawadar Port in Pakistan is positioned at the Arabian Sea which is 72 Kilometers far from Iran, 320 Kilometers from Cape al-Hadd in Oman and about 400 Kilometers away from the Strait of Hormuz and relates tothe Persian Gulf. Gawadar as a key shipping point may be able to play a key role in ensuring China’s energy security as it provides a much shorter route than the current 12,900 km route from the Persian Gulf through the Strait of Malacca to the eastern seaboard of China. China has been building its leading role in Asia and beyond for economic and political cooperation through “One Belt One Road”. OBOR project has two components: first, the land-based ‘New Silk Road’; and second, a 21st Century Maritime Silk Road through a vast network of transport corridors, pipelines, ports and fiber-optic cables spreading across the entireEurasian landmass connecting East Asia, Central and South Asia, the Middle East and parts of Europe. China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (hereafter CPEC) is very vital and a joint venture of Pakistan and China to connect Kashgar in China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region with the Southwestern Pakistani port of Gawadar. Under CPEC, China will invest $46 billion in Pakistan for the development of infrastructure and energy for the next 15 to 30 years. The four main pillars of CPEC are Gawadar port, communication infrastructure, energy infrastructure and industrial zones. Pakistan will serve as a crucial bridge between China and Central Asia; South Asia and the Middle East. This paper makes an analysis of the strategic parameters of CPEC from both the Chinese andPakistani perspectives.
Pak-China nexus has always been exemplary and phenomenal. Year 2015 is marked as the biggest milestone between these two all-weather friends. China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is the key to the door that leads to the biggest ever trade activity that will be started from China and will be expanded to the middle-east, African and even some vibrant European markets. It is the biggest deal signed between Pakistan and any other country that promises the huge economic commotion. This corridor is basically a part of new phase of globalization where the economic cooperation between countries and regions define the future of the respective economies. Due to its great economic and geo-strategic importance, CPEC has acquired global attention and analysts from all over the world are holding different opinions on this substantial economic corridor between China and Pakistan. This paper is a brief overview of the intra-regional connectivity that CPEC ensures and its impact on socioeconomic development of the entire region. This study evaluates the growth of energy sector, infrastructure development and advancements in connectivity in terms of transportation and communication as a result of this mega project. It also describes the inter-regional coordination within the country that will strengthen area-to-area bonding that is important for the uniform economic progress so far. Once the things start to move on smoothly and smartly, there is no ambiguity that this project will turn out as the socioeconomic revolution, mainly for Pakistan, then for China and obviously for the other countries of the region as well.
