Headquarters of the Indian Olympic Association, the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium is a multipurpose sports arena.
The stadium is the third largest stadium in India and the 51th in the world in terms of seating capacity.
It was first constructed by the Government of India to host the 9th Asian Games in 1982.
The Stadium has also hosted two one-day international matches - first between India and Australia in 1984 and later between India and South Africa in 1991.
