Dookudu tells the story of the son of an ex-MLA who recreates everything as expected by his father in order to save him from shock after he wakes up from a coma. The film also saw Prakash Raj,
Sonu Sood and Brahmanandam in key roles. With music by
Thaman S, cinematography by Prasad Murella and
KV Guhan, the film was shot in Hyderabad, Mumbai, Gujarat, Istanbul, Dubai and Switzerland. The film went on to win seven Nandi awards, six Filmfare awards and was remade in Bengali and Kannada.
