Actor turned politician Kamal Haasan commemorated MG Ramachandran (MGR), the former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu and founder of AIADMK, on his birth anniversary today. Paying his tribute to the former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, Kamal Haasan said he has no equal in the Tamil film industry and was part of the people's era.
Taking to his social networking page, Kamal Haasan wrote in Tamil, which translates to, "Today is the birthday of Ponmana Chemmal MGR, who has no equal in the Tamil film industry and was part of the people's era.
A sweet person who is still in the hearts of many people. The memories of the revolutionary leader who lived to make people say, 'who is like him', will live on forever."

Actor-politician Ramachandran, popularly known as MGR, had formed the AIADMK after quitting the DMK in 1972 and assumed office in 1977. He continued as the Chief Minister for 10 consecutive years till his death on December 24, 1987.
