Tamil Nadu: T T V Dhinakaran condemns Rajinikanth’s remark on E V R Periyar

SALEM: AMMK leader T T V Dhinakaran condemned actor Rajinikanth for his remarks about rationalist leader E V R Periyar’s 1971 rally.
Talking to reporters at Salem on Thursday, Dhinakaran said that it was saddening that Rajinikanth has spoken about Periyar based on false information at 50th anniversary function of Thuglaq magazine.
“Periyar struggled throughout his life for the upliftment of Tamil people without any expectations.Rajnikanth should have avoided his speech about Periyar,’’ he said.
“Rajini’s remarks are condemnable,’’ he said.
Meanwhile, Ramanuja Jeeyar, the pontiff from Mannargudi, backed Rajinikanth.
He told reporters at Salem there was nothing wrong in what the actor spoke about Periyar.
