PATNA: Eminent writer and social activist Arundhati Roy and representatives of international fraternal organisations on Friday expressed solidarity to anti-fascist struggles and CPI(ML)’s 11th party congress being held at Patna.
Friday was the second day of the CPI(ML) deliberations, when the themes of public, national and international concern were addressed.
Roy said the social groups and parties engaged in anti-caste and anti-capitalist struggles in the country have to come together.
She welcomed the coming together of various political groups to form anti-fascist opposition in the country and even abroad. On Friday, the CPI(ML) delegates from across the country adopted two resolutions. The first one recognised fascism as the main threat to people and democracy. The second resolution pointed to the nature of Indian fascism at the present juncture -- as the “manifestation of corporate-communal nexus”.
The representatives of fraternal organisations from Venezuela, Nepal, Ukraine, Bangladesh, Australia and Palestine expressed solidarity to the 11th congress of the CPI(ML), while solidarity messages were received from Communist groups in Cuba, Germany, Swaziland, Philippines, Cyprus and Laos, besides congratulatory messages from Afghanistan, Iran, Argentina and Namibia. They reposed hope and faith in the ongoing people's struggles for the “just, democratic world”.
