Diganth Manchale injures neck in Goa, airlifted to Bengaluru

Kannada film actor Diganth Manchale, who suffered a neck injury in Goa while performing a backflip, was airlifted to Bengaluru on Tuesday evening and is reported to be under evaluation now.

BENGALURU: Kannada film actor Diganth Manchale, who suffered a neck injury in Goa while performing a backflip, was airlifted to Bengaluru on Tuesday evening and is reported to be under evaluation now.
Sources who interacted with the 38-year-old said he was stable and responded normally.
According to sources, the actor was holidaying with wife Aindrita Ray in Goa.
On Sunday morning as part of his exercise routine, he performed a backflip but landed on his head. He suffered a severe neck injury and was rushed to a private hospital in Goa. His relatives reached out to Manipal Hospitals in Bengaluru for further treatment. Following this, a special private jet was arranged with help from the Goa government.
At 3pm on Tuesday, Diganth was airlifted in the jet from Goa's Dabolim Airport and landed at Bengaluru's HAL Airport around 4.30pm. He was transported in an ambulance to Manipal Hospitals, Old Airport Road.
He is being treated by Dr Vidyadhara S, HoD & consultant spine surgeon, and being evaluated, the hospital said.
Diganth, who made his film debut in 2006, has starred in more than 35 movies in big and small roles, including lead ones. Movies like Pancharangi and Galipata, brought him popularity; he also made a cameo appearance in blockbuster Mungaru Male.
