Panama’s Pacific coast is home to an archipelago of 14 volcanic islands known as the Islas Secas. In the shimmering waters of the Gulf of Chiriquí, 20 miles off the coast of the mainland (or 33 nautical miles from the town of Punta Tierra, Chorcha), these private islands are the setting for an exclusive and luxurious eco-resort which opened earlier this year. Following the soft opening in early 2019, Islas Secas will open as a full-service island resort in December 2019.

The four casitas, each individually designed and surrounded by lush tropical vegetation, can accommodate a total of 18 guests on one of the islands. (Seventy-five perfect of the archipelago has been left untouched.) Overlooking the ocean, each casita comes with a plunge pool and spacious outdoor deck. There’s also an outdoor dining area and outdoor shower.
The array of recreational activities are overseen by the Adventure Concierge who can help design nature experiences and “marine safaris.” Go snorkeling or diving to discover the rich marine life in the Gulf of Chiriquí; explore the UNESCO-listed Coiba National Park; go swimming, paddle boarding or whale-watching.
