Lindsay Lohan demanded more outfits than SJP: ‘I put everyone through hell’

2004 was the year that pink miniskirts, tiny white monogrammed Louis Vuitton bags and Juicy Couture swimsuits were all the rage. And no one knows those trends better than Lindsay Lohan.

The early aughts teen queen, now 35, dove into her moments from her fashion history in a recent Vogue’s Life in Looks interview.

She discussed her style choices from 2004, specifically when she hosted that year’s MTV Movie Awards.

The “Mean Girls” alum revealed that she drove her team crazy at the time because she wanted more outfit changes than the previous host, Sarah Jessica Parker, who was at the height of her “Sex and the City” fame when she led the 2000 show.

Parker, now 57, famously had 15 different costumes during the telecast’s run.

“I remember Sarah Jessica Parker, she had hosted something, and I asked, ‘How many changes did she have?’ Because I wanted more,” Lohan said. “So I just put everyone through hell trying to get more looks.”

The “Parent Trap” actress also touched upon her looks for the evening and noted that a skit was suggested for her opening number. But she recalled telling her team that she wanted to do a dance routine and she learned one with her backup dancers a mere 25 minutes before the show aired.

Lohan rocked a Dolce & Gabbana suit for her opening, which she told Vogue was “actually really fun” to wear. As her dance went on, she ripped off her suit and wore a white rhinestone-covered Juicy Couture outfit underneath.

While the New York native sported “as much jewelry as I can wear,” she also made sure to wear a medley of crosses “to protect me on that stage.”

Elsewhere in her video profile, Lohan dished that she originally wanted to play Queen Bee herself Regina George instead of wallflower Cady Heron in 2004’s “Mean Girls.” Of course, Rachel McAdams wound up scoring the career-making role as Queen of the Plastics.

“The story behind me playing Cady in ‘Mean Girls’ is really unknown by a lot of people. I wanted to play Regina,” Lohan stated. “Because I had just come off of ‘Freaky Friday,’ and I really wanted to play like a pretty, normal girl now and I wanted to have a different kind of role than just the damaged teenager again.”

“Mark Waters, the director, was insistent that I played Cady and so was [writer] Tina [Fey],” Lohan added. “They were like, ‘No, no, no you’re the lovable one, you have to play Cady.’ So I was so eager to get into the transitional part of, ‘OK, let’s get to the pretty part of Cady.’”
