OPI Glacier Bay Blues

Hello! I am back with yet another vintage nail polish review. OPI Glacier Bay Blues is a polish that goes back to 2004. It was one of the twelve polishes from OPI’s Canada Collection.

The polish is sought after by many collectors. This is because of its unique duo-chrome shade. But is it worth the hype?

OPI Glacier Bay Blues review

Firstly, Glacier Bay Blues is a dark indigo blue polish full of green to fuchsia shimmer. The polish looks rather duo-chromey (is this even a word haha?) in the bottle, the shifting shades do not transition to the nail as well. Moreover, the shift was pretty much killed off by my photography lights. In reality, the shade change was not extremely evident and more subtle thank I would like.

Secondly, the application was not the greatest. It wasn’t as opaque as I would have liked. I am wearing only two coats on the swatches. I found some patchiness and I think three coats would have been necessary for a perfect finish. And there was this old OPI smell that I didn’t like. It looks like I am actually going off vintage OPI’s :( What is wrong with me?

To conclude, it’s an okay polish. However, truth to be told – it left me underwhelmed.

Anyhow, if you would like to see more vintage nail polish swatches, see my other blog posts here.
