Kasab sentenced to death on 4 counts

The death sentence has come after 17 months of the terrorist attack. Kasab broke down and cried after the judge pronounced the death sentence.

Judge Tahaliyani, while pronouncing the sentence, said, ""He is a menace to the society. He does noy have the right to live.""

Special Public Prosecuter Ujjwal Nikam, said, ""I am very happy with the judgement. My efforts have paid fruit. He has been given the death sentence under Section 120 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). He tried his best to save himself. We knew he would get what he deserved. He is free to appeal to the Supreme Court.""

Himanshu Roy, Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime), Mumbai, says, ""This is a very important decision and the most important trial of our country. It was a fair and transparent trial. The death penalty will serve as a deterrent.""
