Mahindra Scorpio Classic – what will it get?
The new Scorpio-N has been hogging all the headlines. We will be seeing the new Scorpio in its full glory on the 27th of June. But Mahindra did confirm that it will continue selling the current Scorpio as the ‘Scorpio Classic’. This Scorpio Classic will get a minor update along with the new Scorpio-N. So what will the Scorpio Classic get? In today’s article, let’s find out.
Design update
The Scorpio Classic will get subtle changes over the current Scorpio. What will be the changes? It will get a revised grille with the new Mahindra logo in the middle. Mahindra might also update the headlamps and tail lamps. The Scorpio Classic is expected to come with new alloy wheels. What about the interiors? Interiors could also get a minor update. We could see a slightly updated infotainment system and addition of modern features like cruise control, etc.
Mahindra Scorpio Classic – Specifications
Mechanically, the Scorpio Classic will mostly continue with the same 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine. This engine is capable of producing 130bhp & 300Nm of torque. Will Mahindra retune the engine? Only time will tell. Transmission duties will continue to be handled by a six-speed manual gearbox.
Variants and pricing
According to rumours, the Scorpio Classic will come in only two variant options. So what are these two variants? Mahindra could continue with the S3+ and S11 variants in both seven and nine-seater options. What about the pricing? Currently, the S3+ starts from Rs 13.30 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
