Genelia D’Souza is one of the most bubbly and fantastic actresses in the film industry. After being away from the screen for a decade, the actress has now made her comeback to films and is giving one good performance after another. Last year, the actress made her comeback with the Marathi film, ‘Ved.’ Now, she is all set to make enter Bollywood again with her upcoming film, ‘Trial Period.’

‘Trial Period’ is directed by Aleya Sen. The film starts Genelia D’Souza and Manav Kaul in lead roles.

It follows the journey of a single mother Ana, played by Genelia D'Souza. Her world takes an unexpected turn when her curious son insists on having a father for a trial period of 30 days! This innocent request leads to the arrival of the disciplined Prajapati Dwivedi, aka PD, brilliantly portrayed by Manav Kaul. However, PD's personality clashes with the expectations of both mother and son, setting the stage for a delightful tale of love and friendship. As they navigate the hurdles of an unconventional family dynamic, a unique bond begins to blossom, proving that unexpected connections can bring immense joy and fulfillment.

Talking about how she prepared for the role in an interview, Genelia D'Souza said that she spoke to a lot of single mothers to understand the hardships and complexities of their lives. She also added that although she had never played a Bengali woman on screen, Alaya Sen was clear on how her character should behave.

Genelia also added that Alaya Sen and costume designer Karishma Gulati made sure to create an individualistic look for the film and also mentioned that to up the glamour factor in films, many times the actors forget their characters.

In the interview, Alaya also praise Genelia D’Suza and said that she was open to trying everything from the look to reading sessions to getting into the skin of the character.

Alaya Sen has been behind films like ‘Dil Juunglee’ and ‘Badhaai Ho’ in the past.

On the work front, this year, Genelia D’Souza was seen in ‘Mister Mummy’ along with Riteish Deshmukh. Looking forward, she will also be returning to Telugu films with an untitled film which will mark the debut of Karnataka’s former minister Gali Janardhan Reddy’s son, Kireeti as the lead actor. The film will be directed by Radhe Krishna.
