Patil Rail Infrastructure bags another track work order for Delhi Metro Phase 4

New Delhi, India (Metro Rail Today): In a significant stride towards the expansion and enhancement of the Delhi Metro Rail Network, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Limited (DMRC) has issued a Letter of Acceptance (LoA) to Patil Rail Infrastructure Pvt. Ltd. The contract pertains to the crucial supply of a fastening system for the Ballastless Track in the Line-8 Extension project.

The awarded contract, identified by the Tender Reference Number DT-04, specifies the supply of a fastening system consisting of 69,000 sets of 04 Anchor System and 144,150 sets of 02 Anchor System for the Ballastless Track. The Line-8 Extension, stretching from Janakpuri West to Majlis Park and further to R.K. Ashram, is a pivotal addition to Delhi's metro connectivity.

  • Contract Value: ₹70,70,78,923.50
  • Work Completion Period: 24 Months

The initiation of this significant contract dates back to June 2023 when DMRC invited a tender under the reference DT-04. The tender specifically called for the supply of a fastening system catering to the Line-8 Extension's Ballastless Track requirements. The technical specifications outlined stringent criteria, aligning with the safety standards set by the Ministry of Railways and the procedure for safety certification and technical clearance for Metro Systems, dated December 2015.

To ensure the reliability and quality of the fastening system, DMRC mandated a satisfactory performance record of a minimum of three years. This track record should demonstrate regular revenue operation on ballastless tracks within any two different established railway systems, excluding exclusive freight tracks. The requirement further specified a track length of at least 5 km in each metro system, maintaining a speed potential of at least 80 kmph, and accommodating a design axle load of 16T, regardless of wheel profile and rail section.

The Magenta Line Extension, covering a distance of 29.6 km, plays a vital role in expanding the connectivity landscape in Delhi. The extension will seamlessly connect Janakpuri West to Ramakrishna Ashram Marg, boasting 22 stations along the route. Notably, this extension strategically intersects with the existing Green, Red, Yellow, Pink, and Blue lines of the Delhi Metro Rail Network, contributing significantly to the city's public transportation network.

The Line-8 Extension project, including the Magenta Line Extension, is anticipated to be completed by March 2026. This timeline aligns with Delhi's continuous efforts to improve and expand its metro network, enhancing accessibility and convenience for commuters in the northern parts of the city.

Last month, Patil Rail Infrastructure was awarded a track work contract worth ₹52.16 crore by Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Limited (DMRC) to supply ballastless track fastening systems for the Golden Line (Aerocity - Tughalkabad) of Delhi Metro Phase 4.
