On Thursday, DreamWorks Animation debuted the first trailer for its upcoming Madagascar spin-off series, Madagascar: A Little Wild, exclusively with Mashable. Debuting September 7 on streaming services Peacock and Hulu, this Muppet Babies-style origin story expands on the childhood versions of Alex the Lion (Tucker Chandler), Gloria the Hippo (Shaylin Becton), Marty the Zebra (Amir O'Neil), and Melman the Giraffe (Luke Lowe) as introduced in Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa.

Sure, we already have Baby Yoda, Baby Dory, Baby Nut, et al., but in a year as abysmally bleak as this one, who among us could refuse an extra helping of adorable baby zoo animals? The little hooves! The little tails! The little paws! The little tummies!

Executive produced by Johanna Stein, Madagascar: A Little Wild Season 1 will include six 22-minute episodes set in New York City at Central Park Zoo. There, the adorable foursome will explore their big city dreams of stardom, adventure, dance, and immaculate hygiene. Move it!

Madagascar: A Little Wild premieres Sept. 7 on Hulu and Peacock.
