    West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee to attend INDIA bloc next meeting

    Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said on Wednesday that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi called her on Monday regarding the opposition INDIA bloc's meeting.

    After reaching North Bengal today, Banerjee said, "Rahulji called me the day before yesterday and told me about the meeting. I have told him that I was not informed earlier and at present I am preoccupied."

    The Trinamool Congress supremo also said that there are other Chief Ministers also and they should be informed well ahead.
    "There are other Chief Ministers also and they should be informed at least 7-10 days ahead as they have pre-scheduled programs," Banerjee said.

    Banerjee had earlier said that she had no knowledge about the opposition meet and she was not aware of the meeting taking place.

    Meanwhile, Banerjee said that she has met Prime Minister Narendra Modi thrice on MGNREGA funds related issue. "I must say this as Union Minister Giriraj Singh has spoken on this in Parliament." It is learnt that Singh and senior Trinamool MP Sudip Bandopadhyay spoke on the issue in the Parliament.

    Bandopadhyay today said in Delhi that Singh sat beside him in Parliament for a long time and both spoke at length on MGNREGA dues. "I have told him about our dues in MGNREGA and several other central funds. I even suggested that they should withhold funds where corruption occurred and release the rest of the fund. Singhji suggested that CM Mamata Banerjee meet the Prime Minister to resolve the issue."
