The Indian Premier League (IPL) begins its 16th season on March 31 with the reigning champions Gujarat Titans taking on Chennai Super Kings at Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Stadium. This season, Star Sports renewed its broadcast contract, while Viacom 18 purchased the rights to live stream matches in India from the BCCI for a total of Rs 20,500 crore.

The BCCI sold IPL broadcasting rights for the 2023-2027 season for Rs 48,390 crore ($6.2 billion). Following this, the IPL surpassed the NFL as the world's second-most-valuable tournament.

How to watch IPL 2023 online?

The IPL live-streaming sport has completely changed since Jio Cinema announced that the IPL 2023 will be free to watch. Cricket fans will not need to purchase an OTT subscription this year to watch the live stream of the IPL 2023, as all matches will be available in 4K Resolution (Ultra HD) for free across all telecom operators in 12 languages, including English, Marathi, Hindi, Tamil, Bengali, Bhojpuri, Telugu, and Gujarati. This season, Jio Cinema also claims to offer a free multi-cam feature.

How to watch IPL 2023 on Television?

The IPL 2023 games will be broadcast on television by Star Sports Network. Star paid the BCCI a total of Rs 23,575 crores to acquire TV rights for domestic broadcast for the next five years. It will broadcast 74 matches in 2023 and 2024 as part of the package. It will air 84 matches in 2025 and 2026, followed by 94 live broadcasts in 2027.
