According to Deepika, skincare and self-care can go hand in hand. She voiced feeling that acts of self-care are those which make you feel centered and recharged which can be different things for different people.

The actor revealed she practices “Cleanse, Hydrate and Protect” skincare routine, which involves cleansing her skin properly, following up with hydration and protection. She disclosed that this routine could only be developed once she became a part of the modelling industry in her early twenties.

“I was a professional badminton player until the age of 16. During these formative years, I had no real understanding of skincare or good practices for my skin health. All I did was wash my face with water. No cleansing. No hydrating. And definitely no sunscreen,” Deepika said.

She added that her “Cleanse, Hydrate and Protect” skincare routine has been the most simple yet effective routine she has practiced. And for anything more complex than that, she has sought the advice of a dermatologist, whenever needed.

Every year, July 24 is marked as International Self-Care Day. The reason why this date was chosen is because the format of it looks like 24/7, which denotes that self-care should be performed 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
