Agastya Nanda revisits first day on the set of The Archies: ‘Zoya Akhtar was very patient with us’

Agastya Nanda, who portrays the protagonist Archie Andrews in the film, recently disclosed that the song Sunoh was shot on his first day on set and was also his first take.

While taking part in Bollywood Hungama’s two-day OTT India Fest, along with the cast and crew of The Archies, Agastya delved into the preparations he underwent for the role. “I had to learn how to play the guitar. I had to learn how to sing. Learning to sing and how to play the guitar was a great learning experience,” he said.

“It isn’t easy. Piano is a problem as I have thick fingers. So, I keep hitting two or three notes at the same time. But the guitar is fun and adds to the fun at the parties if you play it with your friends,” Agastya added.

Composed by Ankur Tewari and The Islanders, the lyrics of ‘Sunoh’ are penned by Javed Akhtar and Dot. Singer Tejas has given his vocals for the song. Bollywood’s Baadshah Shah Rukh Khan had also praised the song following its release.

Expressing admiration for director Zoya, Agastya remarked, “She was very patient with us. She taught us very nicely. I love her for taking a chance on us. Hopefully, people like what we’ve done.”

“I always watched movies. I never thought I’d be in the movies. When Zoya and Reema called me for the first time, I thought they were pulling a prank. It’s a huge privilege to be on Netflix and to be with these great people,” the actor commented about his debut.

Penned by Ayesha Devitre Dhillon, Reema Kagti and Zoya Akhtar, The Archies also stars Sridevi-Boney Kapoor’s daughter Khushi Kapoor, rock musician Amit Saigal’s daughter Aditi ‘Dot’ Saigal, Mihir Ahuja, Vedang Raina and Yuvraj Menda in key roles.

Bankrolled by Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti’s Tiger Baby Films, The Archies is set to premiere on Netflix on December 7.
