Brief
A small pinkish grey dove with bright green wings, white band on the head, red beak and feet. It also has a white patch on the shoulder. It is found in evergreen and moist deciduous forests and plantations.

    Flocks often raid castor fields, hence the Soliga name `Aralhakki´, or `castor-bird ´. When disturbed, flies swiftly through the forest. It is not easily seen, but its distinctive, low `hooon ´ call can often be heard along forest roads and near streams.
