Shah Rukh Khan Says He Was 'Age-Honest' In Dunki; 'Since I Look Young, People Don’t Want To Give Me Older Roles'

Shah Rukh Khan recently opened up about his role in Dunki. The film that was released in theatres on Thursday has received mixed reviews from the audience. Speaking about his role in the movie, the actor shared that he has done an 'age-honest' role in Dunki for the first time.

The actor said that he is 58 now and should do 'age-centric roles' from now on. He stated that Jawan was a commercial film and had an 'in-your-face' kind of character in it. SRK said that he wouldn't call the character a caricature, but it was an 'over the top old person'.

On the other hand, in Dunki, he said, the character was very real. He said, "And to be a certain age and span that many years is very interesting." The actor added, "I would say I have been ‘age honest’ for the first time in Dunki. It’s more close to my age."

Khan stated that he tried his best to play the role as real as possible. He said that it wasn't a conscious effort, but he was comfortable playing the role of his age and others. He then said, "Since I look young, people don’t want to give me older roles."
