The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 13 reunion trailer is anything but hunky dory

A surprise guest sends one of the ladies into shock.

"The only time I notice jewelry is when after the robbery, Dorit still had hers.”

On The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, this was such a throwaway line — delivered with mischievous grin by show MVP Garcelle Beauvais during a confessional — but it's a major source of drama in the upcoming three-part reunion.

But then again, there are so many sources of drama, too many to keep track of, that the trailer (below) promises this reunion will accomplish the ultimate goal of all great Housewives reunions: making everything much worse.

Why else would we have a surprise appearance from the biggest big sister in all of Beverly Hills, Kathy "Who's Hunky Dory?" Hilton?

Garcelle's shady aside came during one of the best episodes in RHOBH's 13 seasons: Kyle Richards' tore-up-from-the-floor-up, two-part weed dinner. Beverly Hills hadn't reached that level of curated chaos in years and this season, though uneven, felt like a return to form.

The major plot line was Kyle and husband Mauricio Umansky's separation, which the show's been slowly, boringly building to for an eternity. And then there's a flirtation between Kyle and country singer Morgan Wade, which is, again, Snoozeville, USA, population: those two. Kyle's been playing her marital woes close to the vest and both viewers and her costars have noticed.

"Kyle's dancing around the reason for her split. What's the reason and why won't she just spit it out?" host Andy Cohen says, asking what appears to be a fan question.

That seems to reignite the feud between Kyle and Sutton Stracke, who we thought buried the hatchet in a lovely moment in a Barcelona cathedral — but as if you need reminding, there's nothing sacred about a reunion couch.

Because the American job economy is booming, everyone was hard at work this season. Someone was always feuding with someone: Garcelle and Dorit Kemsley over Dorit's continued Karen-ness. Crystal Kung Minkoff and new girl Annemarie Wiley over Annemarie's medical qualifications and disparaging comments Crystal denied she made (but probably did) about the other women. Annemarie, who really came in hot but not always in a good way, and Sutton over Sutton's alleged small esophagus (if you're not already familiar, do yourself a favor and don't ask). Erika Jayne and everyone over not apologizing to Erika for their largely valid responses to her legal troubles.

There was so much in-fighting going on the eye didn't know where to rest. And in the middle of it all, cameos from a disheveled Denise Richards, former show MVP Camille Grammer, and The Morally Corrupt Faye Resnick. All at that weed dinner party. It was the Avengers: Endgame of Real Housewives dinner parties: too long, confusing, but ultimately cathartic.

But we had fun, too! Erika's drunken performance at a dinner in Barcelona is better than any song she's ever put out. Three sheets to the wind, Erika managed to effortlessly sail through conversation with Sutton's "erudite" friends, even if she could barely keep one eye open.

To top it all off, Sutton spreading the ashes of dearly departed friend and modern dance legend Merce Cunningham...on the faces of her well-meaning but stunned girlfriends. The wind was the shadiest of them all that day.

So yeah, there was a lot happening and a lot to unpack. But where the hell did Kathy Hilton come from? And why is she here? And why did Sutton look terrified to see her and then start shaking uncontrollably?

Of course, we'll have to wait till the reunion airs to find out but until then, face-plant into this trailer the way Erika face-planted onto that table in Barcelona: with grace.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills three-part reunion premieres Feb. 28 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Bravo. Extended uncensored versions of the episodes will be available to stream the next day on Peacock.
