  • The movement of a plant part in response to gravity is called geotropism.
  • If the plant part moves in the direction of gravity, it is called positive geotropism.
  • If the plant part moves against the direction of gravity, it is negative geotropism.



•For example, the shoot of the plant shows negative geotropism whereas the roots of the plants show positive geotropism.
