The NFL's Top 5 Personalities for Reality TV

0 of 5

Terrell Owens has one. Chad Ochocinco has one. Even Kathy Griffin has one. Yes, I'm talking about reality TV shows, and for most of the last decade they have been as popular as texting and Facebook.

There's few things as entertaining as watching celebrities step outside their comfort zones and be on public display for millions to watch. Owens and Ochocinco were natural selections for reality TV because both are, well, captivating. But the NFL is awash with dozens of personalities who also deserve their own reality TV shows. Here are my choices for the top five.

5. Chris Cooley

1 of 5

Cooley may not be very well known among football fans, but the Washington Redskins tight end has a natural affinity for entertainment and public humiliation. The renowned prankster has his own website where he posts videos of amusing impersonations, hilarious musings, and jokes he and his friends pull on his teammates.

Most recently, Cooley pulled a prank on his new quarterback, Donovan McNabb, in which he stuck a fan in McNabb's locker.

4. Ben Roethlisberger

2 of 5

Big Ben may be behind Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, and Drew Brees in the ranks of elite NFL quarterbacks. But when it comes to entertainment off the field, Roethlisberger is about as good as they get.

3. Rex Ryan

3 of 5

Rex Ryan is relatively new to the NFL scene, joining the New York Jets as a head coach in 2009. However, in his short time in the spotlight Ryan has already made quite a name for himself.

2. Al Davis

4 of 5

If being crazy is the #1 qualification for being a reality TV star then Al Davis fits the bill, and then some.

The Oakland Raiders owner is renowned around the league for questionable football decisions, sensationalist quotes, and a physical likeness that has an uncanny resemblance to a corpse.

1. Brett Favre

5 of 5

Let's face it. Brett Favre's career reads like a season of The Bachelor.

He retires. He comes back. He retires. He comes back. He retires. He eats a sandwich. He thinks about coming back. He stays retired. He comes back. (And this is just over a two month period!)

As much as he's accomplished in his illustrious NFL career, the last few years of indecision, provocation, and disappointment/excitement have cemented his legacy as the man who just wouldn't retire.

We could even make a gameshow.
