Design Your Business Around God’s Will
STRATEGY #30
Some leaders in the business world and gurus instruct people to design their businesses around their lifestyle and making money first but the bible says in all we do put God first.
Matthew 6:31–33
Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
Most seek, with anxiousness, freedom, self-direction, self-reliance…..the right to choose to do what you want, when you want, and with who you want this thought pattern is in direct conflict with what the bible says.
Do Not Be Anxious
25 “Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?
26 Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?
27 And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life?
28 And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin,
29 yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
30 But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? (Matthew 6:25–30)
Yes you want to bring value to the marketplace and yes you can run your business as you please and even charge what you want to make the money you want, but consider doing it with God in mind first.
Do it from wanting to live out the purpose that He has for your life and let the mindset of acquiring things come from the overflow of serving others and fulfilling your God-given purpose of being born. Be determined to do what he appointed you to do.
Although the following scripture was said to Jeremiah, challenge yourself to find out what he appointed you to do. “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” Jeremiah 1:5
Jeremiah 29:11 says: For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
Knowing that He knows the plans he has for you and those plans are for a future and hope, wouldn’t it make sense to ask God what are the plans that he has for you? And once those plans are reviled to you, to wake up every day and work for God, instead of things?
This is a clear mental decision shift that must be made by you for God. You need to give yourself permission to conduct your life and your business by God’s word and instruction and to live out His will for your life and business.
From this day forward make decisions from:
Seeking God vs. seeking self-pleasure and Working for God vs. freedom.
When you do this all other things will fall into place.
You will have amazing clients and customers, an exceptional management and partnership team….time to serve others…..time with your family….time to travel….the income you desire…..the desires of your heart.
Now with that high level of success and wealth comes a high price one must pay. And that price does not need to be painful when you tap into faith and act according to God’s will. Proverbs 10:22 The blessing of the LORD brings wealth, without painful toil for it.
Most people are panic-stricken when it comes to creating wealth and making decisions that are seemingly higher than their pay grade or level of experience and unfortunately leave their fate in the hands of the world, their clients, or the market.
But I challenge you to avoid the severe beaten that business and life bring to those who know the will of God but do not act on it. You can also avoid paying a high cost by seeking wise counsel to help guide you to business success with less friction.
Now, it’s not to say you won’t go through some stuff, because with success comes some failure and opposition, so…..You must be ready!
Luke 12:47–48 And that servant who knew his master’s will but did not get ready or act according to his will, will receive a severe beating. 48 But the one who did not know, and did what deserved a beating, will receive a light beating. Everyone to whom much was given, of him much will be required, and from him to whom they entrusted much, they will demand the more.
This is why there is a big gap between those who make it in business and those who don’t. By tapping into the will of God, praying, deciding, and then having the boldness to ask God for what you want and how you desire to live will create an exceptional life for you here on earth.
Perhaps you want to work from home or you want a certain schedule, or you want to live in a certain part of the world, He will give you the desires of your heart, just keep him first in MIND.
Now you may be thinking, don’t even sinners get to this point of their life and business where they have the desires of their heart. And the answer is YES they do. However, you are just not after earthly possessions are you?
Give yourself permission to think and believe differently when it comes to business and allow your heart to stay focus on God. Matthew 6:19–21 “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
It’s totally up to you, you get to decide where your heart is. And I promise when you make that decision to put God first and let Him be the CEO of your business and implement, biblical principles first and implement these mission marketing strategies one by one, you will begin to see a change in your life and business!
