The second staging of the Chinese Taipei Open, presented by Taiwanese promoters Fullcan Sports, will take place from January 10-12 at the Hulk Billiards hall in Taipei City.

Following the inaugural edition which was held in November as Ko Ping-Chung defeated Jeffrey Ignacio in the final, the World Nineball Tour returns to Taiwan.

World number one and world champion Francisco Sanchez Ruiz will headline the 96-player field, participating alongside fellow top 16 stars in US Open champion Ko Ping-Chung, Ko Pin-Yi and Aloysius Yapp.

Carlo Biado leads a strong Filipino contingent, which also includes World Cup of Pool champions Johann Chua and James Aranas, European Open runner-up Anton Raga, Michael Feliciano and Marvin Asis.

Filipino youngsters Kyle Amoroto, Bernie Regalario and AJ Manas will also be in attendance, with the latter becoming the youngest ranking event runner-up last month at the age of 16.

In addition, Naoyuki Oi, Robbie Capito, Duong Quoc Hoang are amongst the other international players, while Wu Kun-Lin and Chang Yu-Lung will compete in their home country.

Reigning women’s world champion Chou Chieh-Yu and two-time women’s world champion Liu Hsin-Mei, meanwhile, headline the female eight participants.

It will be double elimination until 32 players remain, with the format being race-to-nine and race-to-eight on the one-loss side, before the quarter-finals and semi-finals are race-to-ten and the final is race-to-eleven.

Coverage will be broadcast live via the Matchroom Pool social media platforms, with selected matches throughout the duration as well as the semi-finals and final to be shown on their YouTube channel.
