Epiglottis
Flap of elastic cartilage that falls over the glottis.  Closes during swallowing to prevent aspiration.

Supraglottis
The space defined as below the epiglottis and above the glottis.

Glottis
The opening defined by the true vocal cords, anterior and posterior commissure.

Hypoglottis
The space immediately under the glottis.

Larynx
Includes all structures and spaces from the epiglottis to the hypoglottis.

Vallecula
The depression between the base of the tongue and epiglottis.  Where your Mac blade goes.

Aryepiglottic folds
Soft tissue that extends from the lateral portions and base of the epiglottis around to the corniculate cartilages

Corniculate cartilage
Cartilage prominence at the posterior portion of the glottis and at the posterior portion of the vocal cords.

Cuneiform cartilage
Cartilage prominence just lateral to the corniculate cartilage.

Arytenoids
Larger cartilage structures to which the cuneiform and corniculate cartilages rest on.  Assist in glottic opening and closing with the arytenoid muscles.

Vestibule
Recess lateral to the vocal cords and bordered by the epiglottis, aryepiglottic folds and arytenoids

Posterior commissure
Where the vocal cords meet posteriorly.

Anterior commissure
Where the vocal cords meet anteriorly.
