As part of Google's ongoing commitment to encouraging women to excel in computing and technology, we are pleased to present the fifth edition of the Google India Women in Engineering Award (now Google India Anita Borg Memorial Scholarship) to recognize and reward deserving women students in Computer Science and related majors, and inspire them to become active participants and leaders in creating technology.
The application form has the following sections: contact information, educational background, achievements, project work and two essays. If short-listed our team will request you to submit two reference letters. Women engineering students will be awarded based on excellence in academia, passion for technology, demonstrated leadership and originality of thought.
Only one application per candidate is permitted.

The winners will be granted a scholarship of INR 1,00,000 via cheque. This amount is subject to Income Tax as per the Income Tax rules.
We would prefer not to limit the scholarship numbers. A group of female undergraduate, graduate and PhD student finalists will be chosen from the applicant pool.
Yes, you can apply for this scholarship.
We are accepting applications only from students pursuing Computer Science and related courses. This would include Information Technology, Information Systems and those pursuing an MCA degree.

We are very conscious that the exposure and knowledge levels of students from B.Tech, Master’s and Ph.D programs are likely to differ depending on the program they are pursuing. To be fair to all applicants, applications will be evaluated among peer groups.
Yes, all applicants/ finalists of the 2009/2010/2011 Google India Women in Engineering Award are eligible for the 2012 scholarship. However, if you were a winner please refer to the next question.
If you have been a winner earlier, please apply for it after a gap of one year. We believe that it will take an applicant at least one year to add any significant accomplishments/ project work to their application. For instance, if you were a winner of the 2011 award we would encourage you to apply for the 2013 scholarship (for which the applications will be open from November 2012)
