The Google India Product Engineering Competition.
Recent trends in the IT landscape in India have shifted toward product design and development. As part of this movement, Google India has a charter to innovate, implement, and launch new Google technologies and products that affect millions of people every day, while making the world's information more accessible to the Indian user.
India possesses a wealth of Information Technology and Engineering knowledge, a lot of which exists at the University level. Google intends to provide a platform for the students to explore their technological abilities and encourage them to develop their product engineering skills.
In this context, Google India presents Product Prodigy 2009, an opportunity for students to innovate, design and create products that are in line with Google’s mission statement, to organize the world's information and making it universally accessible and useful.
The scope of Product Prodigy 2009 has been expanded to include 50 Schools in India, allowing students from across different regions to compete with the brightest talent and network with academics and industry professionals.
