ASSOCIATION FOR DEMOCRATIC REFORMS
The mission of the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) is to strengthen democracy and governance in India. Currently, ADR, along with National Election Watch (NEW) - its partner organization network across India - is monitoring India’s 2009 general elections and disseminating information about candidates to voters. In the past, this activity has resulted in a significant improvement in the profile of candidates contesting elections. ADR is also working on a bill that would introduce greater transparency in the funding of political parties.

JANAAGRAHA CENTRE FOR CITIZENSHIP AND DEMOCRACY
The Janaagraha Centre for Citizenship and Democracy (JCCD) is a non-profit organization that works with citizens and governments to improve the quality of life in urban India. A leading advocate of formalizing citizen participation in urban governance, JCCD works towards ushering in systemic reforms in the urban sphere. JCCD, along with Tata Tea, is the pioneer of the widely-known Jaago Re! One Billion Votes campaign.
LIBERTY INSTITUTE
The Liberty Institute, an independent, non-profit think tank, leads “Empowering India,” an initiative that attempts to empower voters with information about their candidates, constituencies, and political parties. The objective is to encourage citizens to actively participate in democracy as well as promote transparency and accountability in politics. EmpoweringIndia.org is an outcome of a realization at the Liberty Institute that good public policy ultimately originates from a better understanding of the processes that shape democratic politics and influence governance.
PRS LEGISLATIVE RESEARCH
PRS Legislative Research is an independent research initiative that aims to strengthen the legislative debate in India by making it better informed, more transparent, and participatory. PRS provides objective and easy-to-use analysis to MPs on the implications of upcoming legislative bills. By tracking the functioning of Parliament, PRS has reached out to the citizen sector and the media to enable them to engage better with the legislative system. The work of PRS - available at PRSIndia.org - is collaborative and seeks to complement expertise in government, research institutions, business, and the citizen sector.
